The Architecture

MarketPlaces is a three tier solution with all ‘business logic’ on the application server. The main architecture exists of a (central) application server that communicates with ‘external’ components or subsystems through interfaces. Among other things, the central application server is responsible for:

  • Controlling orders that enter the system through (web)clients for authorization, integrity and margins;
  • Sending controlled orders to the exchanges;
  • Replying the status and result of trades back to the clients;
  • Maintaining and authorizing users;
  • Communicating with the database;
  • Communicating with the back office;
  • Communicating with legacy systems.
